Furoshiki – The Art of Wrapping with Fabric by Ery (Patty) Yoshida
October 13, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
One event on October 17, 2020 at 10:00 am
Furoshiki is the useful tradition of wrapping things with fabric, this translates to less paper and plastic waste.
Furoshiki is a practice used in Japan and other places in Asia where a square of fabric is used to wrap things. Nowadays we are more conscious about deforestation and plastic waste, so this is a perfect way to help Mother Earth and have fun too!
In this workshop we will learn hands on how to use a square of fabric to wrap and carry things. You can turn a piece of fabric into a bag or a container into a cute basket. It can be used to wrap gifts so the wrapping becomes part of the present and can be used, unlike paper wrap that goes into the trash bin.
Attendees will take home a Small Furoshiki Wrap and other sizes will be available for purchase.
Total Cost of the workshop is $50.00, $10.00 at time of registration on Eventbrite and the remainder $40.00 at time of the workshop.
Please note that due to Covid-19 , the use of face masks is required during the entire workshop.
